There are certain things in our circumstances that we have no control over. We are shaped by our upbringing and our surroundings. Our understanding of what love is, is from our experiences and the people in our lives and also by the choices we make to deal with them.
What taught me how to love? Who taught me how to love?
The absence of my father and the strength of my mother taught me how to love. Even at the brink of the most crucial episodes my mom held on to us (brother & I) But ultimately it was God who helped me recognize how good I had it despite what I was “missing.” Did I mention that Jesus died on the cross for me? God sent His only son so that I could be saved. I didn’t have a physical father figure present in my childhood to adulthood, but I had the Holy Spirit watching over me and I still do.
So let me ask you..
What taught you how to love?
Who taught you how to love?
I’m really feeling this. Amazing words of wisdom there Jenn! :)
