This poem is sensational, and this woman is inspiring.

Her name is Suheir Hammad, and she presented this poem shortly after 9/11.

And she’s coming to speak at my school.

Oh my god.

I am in awe. Everything she talks about in this poem. Each and every word. So much respect.

“If there are any people on Earth who understand how New York is feeling right now, they are in the West Bank, and the Gaza strip.”

You all need to listen to this.
